About Schroeder Hardware

About Us

Schroeder Guitar Hardware is a small family-owned business in rural Northern California. Our high-quality guitar hardware can be found on guitars around the world. We are honored to provide parts to boutique guitar builders, large guitar company specialty signature lines, DIY builders, touring musicians, gigging local players, hobby guitarists and everyone in between. Schroeder hardware is made in the United States using the highest quality materials available for musicality, function, and tone, and designed with the player in mind. As a guitar builder, Jason knows that quality is essential for every element used on a guitar and we strive to have the best available. As a gigging player, Jason has the opportunity to put the parts through the wringer to ensure they are comfortable to play for hours at a time. Elizabeth and her team work to ensure that every step of the process from idea to design, prototyping and testing, machining and finish, assembly to inspection, all have processes that ensure the best result for our customers- the builder and the player. In addition, we appreciate the trusted builders and players who are willing to test out new parts that are being considered, and share feedback that helps us determined potential modifications to ultimately create the best hardware possible.

The Schroeder Team

Elizabeth Schroeder came to California from Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 2002 to be a nanny.  She had visions of sandy beaches and palm trees but ended up in a semi-rural, smallish town in very northern, California.  She met Jason at one of his gigs in July 2004 and despite her plans to leave less than a month later, she is still here.  Elizabeth and Jason have been in business together since before they were married in 2007.  Elizabeth helped Jason start his guitar company, Jason Z. Schroeder Custom Guitars in 2005 by encouraging him to quit his job as a geologist.  The daughter of entrepreneurs, Elizabeth saw no reason to encourage him to continue working for the Man. By 2007, Jason had moved to full time guitar building with Elizabeth at his side doing inlay work and communications for Schroeder Guitars.

As Jason's guitars gained popularity among the Gear Page (www.thegearpage.net) crowd, he became obsessed with finding the best parts he could for his custom guitars. When he could not find what he wanted, he designed his own.  A thousand iterations later, the Schroeder Original wraparound bridge is widely accepted as one of the best bridges on the market.  Played by bands like Fleetwood Mac and the Zac Brown Band, the Schroeder Bridge has been tested, toured and is trusted by musicians all over the world.

Fast forward and Schroeder Hardware has become an entity of its own.  While Jason built guitars, Elizabeth ran our parts division.  New ideas come up all the time and when something significant comes up, we design and prototype new products and bring to market the best of these.

We will continue to improve existing products and come up with great new ones that make playing guitar more enjoyable for you, the player.  We promise to always provide the best possible communication and customer service.  If you have a problem with a product, let us know.  If you have a suggestion for improvement or an idea for a new product, please let us know and we will do what we can to make it happen.  If you have a technical questions, by all means shoot us an email or give us a call.  We can walk you through it.  Thanks for checking out our site and we can't wait to talk to you.  In the meantime, check back here often for new products and specials.    Also follow us on Instagram and like us on Facebook.
